I’m a sucker for any album that deems itself a concept album. There is just something about putting on an entire album and then hearing and visualizing the story unfold. Trying to find and tap into what the artist has tried to put together for you.
I was late to the party on this one, but that is exactly what HARDY did with the album The Mockingbird & The CROW. It is a true concept album, as it tells the story of going from being like everyone else (country sound portion – lowercase song titles), to letting go – being free – and doing your own thing – your own way (the rock sound portion – all upper case song titles).
And to show how well he has done it, I looked this very day to try and find a copy of that album since my first experience was on Spotify. But the cheapest I came across on Amazon (sorry, no local record store in my area), was nearly $200! Just goes to show he nailed it with that one.
